Quick answer

How much does it cost to store 100 TB in the cloud?

Storing 100 TB in the cloud cost $695.00 a month on Backblaze B2, $799.00 on Wasabi, $1,500.00 on R2 and $2,251.20 on Amazon S3 Standard on 2 November 2026. S3 Glacier Deep Archive cost $99.00, plus retrieval and egress fees. Basalthold Hold 160 gives 128 TB usable for $561.39 per 30 days, crypto only, no KYC.

What does 100 TB cost per month, per year and per restore?

Ranked by monthly price, 100 TB costs from $99 to $2,251 a month, a more than 20-fold spread. The restore column prices one download of all 100 TB to the internet in one month.

1 TB = 1,000 GB; AWS tiers in its own units (first 50 TB = 51,200 GB). AWS prices for US East (N. Virginia). Hetzner excludes VAT; 1 EUR = 1.1172 USD (ECB, 2026-10-30). All read on 2 November 2026.

Prices: B2 $6.95 per TB per 30 days; Wasabi $7.99 per TB; R2 $0.015 per GB; S3 Standard $0.023 then $0.022 per GB; Deep Archive $0.00099 per GB; Storj $7 per TB stored and $7 per TB downloaded.

Why is Glacier Deep Archive so much cheaper?

Because you pay to get the data back, and you must leave it for six months. Deep Archive charges $0.00099 per GB-month, so 100 TB costs $99.00. Objects deleted within 180 days are billed for the rest of that period.

A restore has two fees. Bulk retrieval costs $0.0025 per GB, so $250 for 100 TB; standard retrieval costs $0.02 per GB. Then comes egress: 100 GB free a month, then $0.09, $0.085 and $0.07 per GB by tier. One full restore of 100 TB comes to $8,062.20. That suits data you hope never to read, such as a last-resort copy. It suits poorly a backup you test every month.

What does a rented server need to hold 100 TB usable?

More than 100 TB of raw disk, because RAID keeps spare parity. Hold 100 has 100 TB raw: 80 TB usable in RAIDZ2, 90 TB in RAIDZ1. So 100 TB of data needs Hold 160, which gives 128 TB usable in RAIDZ2 and survives two failed drives. These figures are calculated from the drive count, not measured.

Other servers of that size, checked on 2 November 2026:

  • OffshoreDedi 160TB Storage: €670.00 ($748.52) a month, crypto accepted, verification possible before delivery.
  • Hetzner SX135: 8 × 16 TB, 96 TB usable in RAIDZ2, €449.00 a month plus €224 setup. No crypto.
  • Hetzner Server Auction: 10 × 16 TB from €247.00 a month, IPv4 extra. No crypto.

The market is thin. Of 23 storage-server sellers Basalthold checked on 2 November 2026, only 1 rented 100 TB or more to crypto buyers without ID. The full list is in Where can I rent a storage dedicated server with 100 TB of disk?

What else adds to a 100 TB cloud bill?

Storage is the line you see first. Four others can outgrow it:

  • Egress: S3 bills downloads to the internet past 100 GB a month. B2 is free up to three times your stored data, and Wasabi up to your stored data. R2 charges nothing. Rules are compared in What are cloud storage egress fees?
  • Requests: R2 bills $4.50 per million Class A operations. B2 bills class D calls past 2,500 a day.
  • Minimum periods: Wasabi bills deleted objects up to 90 days; Deep Archive, 180 days. Backup tools that prune old snapshots pay for this.
  • Upload time: at a full 1 Gbit/s, 100 TB takes about 9 days 6 hours to send, whichever service receives it.

A server bills none of these four: one price per term, downloads inside a fixed allowance. Every server has a 1 Gbit/s port with a monthly traffic allowance (Hold 24 40 TB, Hold 40 60 TB, Hold 100 120 TB, Hold 160 200 TB), one dedicated IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64; going past the allowance never triggers an automatic bill.

Which option fits which kind of 100 TB?

Match the service to how often you read the data:

  • Never read, kept for compliance: S3 Glacier Deep Archive, at $99.00 a month.
  • Backups with occasional restores, card payment fine: a Hetzner Storage Box set or B2. Each box stops at 20 TB, so 100 TB means five boxes.
  • Backups read often, or tools that need SSH: a rented server. Restic, Borg and Proxmox Backup Server run on it directly.
  • Data served to the public: R2, whose egress is free.
  • Paid in crypto: Storj takes USDC; Basalthold takes BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. The full list is in Which cloud storage can I pay for with crypto?

Hold 160 costs $561.39 per 30 days. All terms are on the pricing page.

What else do people ask about storing 100 TB?

What is the cheapest way to store 100 TB?

If you never read it back, S3 Glacier Deep Archive at $99.00 a month. If you restore, a set of Hetzner Storage Boxes at €203.00 ($226.79) before VAT. Paid in crypto with no KYC, Basalthold Hold 160 at $561.39.

How much does 100 TB cost on AWS S3?

$2,251.20 a month in S3 Standard, US East, on 2 November 2026. The first 51,200 GB cost $0.023 per GB and the rest $0.022. One full download adds $7,812.20.

How much is 100 TB on Backblaze B2 for a year?

$8,340.00 at $6.95 per TB per 30 days, with egress free up to three times the stored data.

How long does it take to upload 100 TB?

About 9 days 6 hours if the line holds 1 Gbit/s, and about 93 days at 100 Mbit/s. That is a calculation at line rate; real transfers run slower.

Can I pay for 100 TB of storage with crypto?

Yes, at a few providers. Storj takes USDC on Ethereum. Basalthold takes BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC for Hold 160, with no KYC. Our survey found no crypto option at B2, Wasabi or Hetzner.
