The agreement between you and DomaineGoat LLC when you rent a Basalthold storage server, governed by the law of Panama.

**Quick answer — What are the main terms for renting a Basalthold storage server?**

You rent a whole **Basalthold** storage server, called a hold, for 30 days or 3, 6 or 12 months, prepaid from your crypto balance, with no identity check and no setup fee. DomaineGoat LLC, registered in Panama, is the seller; Panamanian courts settle disputes. A lapsed hold's drives are wiped after 7 days. Terms dated 2 November 2026.

## 1. Who signs this agreement

The seller is DomaineGoat LLC, a Panamanian LLC that operates Basalthold: its storage servers, the https://basalthold.com site and the customer dashboard. Below, "we" is that company and "you" is whoever holds the account.

These Terms apply from the moment you open an account, top up or log in to a hold. Three companion documents apply with the same force: the [privacy policy](https://basalthold.com/privacy/ "Records Basalthold keeps and the logs it never writes"), the [refund policy](https://basalthold.com/refunds/ "When days return to your Basalthold balance") and the [acceptable use policy](https://basalthold.com/acceptable-use/ "What a Basalthold storage server may and may not run").

## 2. Eligibility

- Accounts are for adults aged 18 or over.
- The service is closed to residents and companies of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, Belarus, China, Yemen and Western Sahara, and to the occupied regions of Ukraine.
- Listed persons and companies under sanctions are refused, both as account holders and as the end users of a hold.
- You need full legal capacity to contract under your local law.

## 3. Your account number

Signing in takes only an account number; an email address is optional. No KYC: no ID, no selfie, no documents, no card and no phone number, at any point.

- The account number works like a bearer key: its holder can spend the balance and manage every hold.
- Keep your account number safe, since it opens your account. With an email on file the number can be recovered; without one, a lost number cannot be replaced.
- Actions taken with your number or your SSH keys count as yours.
- Nobody from our team will ever ask for your account number, your root password or your private SSH key, by email or in a chat.

## 4. The hold you rent

Storage dedicated servers: a whole physical machine built around a bank of hard drives, rented to one customer, with root access to every drive. Every drive, the processor and the memory belong to your machine alone: no other customer stores data on them.

- **Drives:** The operating system sits on its own SSD (two mirrored SSDs on the larger holds); the data drives arrive blank and unpartitioned, so you can build ZFS, an mdadm array or a set of independent disks. If you want the team to prepare a RAID 6 or RAID 10 array before delivery, say so to support before the server is handed over.
- **Login:** You log in as root over SSH: paste a public key at checkout and password logins stay off, or leave it empty and receive a temporary root password with the server, to replace at your first login.
- **Systems:** Pick Debian, Ubuntu, AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux, Proxmox VE, or Proxmox Backup Server for a ready backup target. Windows is not offered. Installable images: Debian 13, Debian 12, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, AlmaLinux 10, Rocky Linux 10, Proxmox VE 9 and Proxmox Backup Server 4.
- **Encryption:** You can encrypt every data drive with LUKS or ZFS native encryption; the keys stay with you and nobody on the team ever asks for them.
- **Console:** There is no IPMI or KVM-over-IP access for customers; reboots and reinstalls you request in the dashboard are carried out by the team.
- **Cities:** Amsterdam (Netherlands), Bucharest (Romania) and Chisinau (Moldova): every hold in every city, at the same price.
- **Holds and lengths:** Hold 24 $110.99, Hold 40 $201.09, Hold 100 $377.05, Hold 160 $561.39 for 30 days. Rent a hold for 30 days, 3 months (91 days, 10% off), 6 months (182 days, 20% off) or 12 months (365 days, 30% off): a longer term costs the 30-day price times 3, 6 or 12, minus the discount, rounded down to the cent (Hold 24: $299.67 for 3 months, $532.75 for 6, $932.31 for 12). A renewal keeps your term and your starting price unless you choose another term for the next renewal in the dashboard. Each hold's hardware is on the [pricing page](https://basalthold.com/pricing/ "Four holds, their drives and prices per 30 days").
- **Requests:** Reboots, reinstalls and cancellations are requested in the dashboard and handled by the team; a reinstall wipes every drive, data drives included.

## 5. Money

Every price is quoted in US dollars per 30 days, alongside the totals for the longer lengths. No setup fee is charged, neither on the first order nor on a renewal.

- Crypto is the sole method: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. We take no Monero and no Lightning.
- A top-up of $25 or more fills your balance, and each rental length is deducted from it.
- The payment page fixes the coin, the network, the amount and the address. Funds sent any other way may never arrive.
- Blockchain fees on the transfers you make stay on your side.
- Incoming payments are checked against public sanctions lists of blockchain addresses; a payment from a listed address is not credited.
- When we change a price, it reaches new orders; a running hold renews at its starting price (section 7).

## 6. From payment to handover

A person on the team prepares the machine after your payment is confirmed, within 72 hours, so it is not instant; the dashboard shows its progress until the IP address appears. Setup time: 72 hours at the most after your payment is confirmed.

Your paid days are counted from handover, so a slow preparation costs you nothing. Should we fail to prepare the hold at all, no server is created and your money remains as balance (refund policy, case 1). Want a RAID 6 or RAID 10 array built for you? Ask support before handover; after it, arranging the drives is your job.

## 7. Renewing, lapsing, cancelling, wiping

Each server is paid in advance from your crypto balance, for 30 days, 3 months, 6 months or 12 months as chosen at checkout. Auto-renew charges the same length again at the price you started with, unless you set another length for the next renewal in the dashboard; when the balance falls short, the server stops at the end of its term, its drives are held for 7 days and then wiped.

- **Before the end:** you may renew from the dashboard on any day of a term.
- **With auto-renew switched off:** the hold stops on its last paid day, then its drives wait 7 days.
- **Within the 7 days:** renew and the hold comes back with every byte where you left it.
- **After the 7 days:** the drives are wiped; no copy survives anywhere.
- **On cancellation:** the machine goes back and all its drives are wiped at once; any days left in the term are forfeited.
- **On reinstall:** the system and the data drives are erased, then the image you picked is installed.

The checklist on [what happens to your data when you cancel](https://basalthold.com/data-after-server-cancellation/ "The keep period, the wipe and what to do first") is worth five minutes before you click.

## 8. Failed drives

When a drive fails, open a ticket: the team has it replaced at no cost, and rebuilding the array on the new drive is up to your setup. Email support with the serial of the failing drive. Survival of the data rests on your layout. Parity arrays rebuild onto the new drive. A drive you used alone takes its contents with it.

## 9. Data, copies and keys

A storage server is not a backup of itself: we keep no copy of your data anywhere else, so a second copy in another place stays your job. The data is yours, and so is the duty to keep copies of it. Drives erased by a cancellation, by a reinstall or at the close of the 7-day keep period cannot be brought back. Encryption keys stay with you; if you lose one, we have no way to open the drives it protects.

## 10. Network and mail

- Every server has a 1 Gbit/s port with a monthly traffic allowance (Hold 24 40 TB, Hold 40 60 TB, Hold 100 120 TB, Hold 160 200 TB), one dedicated IPv4 address and an IPv6 /64; going past the allowance never triggers an automatic bill.
- Outgoing mail on port 25 is blocked on every server for good, against spam; ports 465 and 587 to mail providers are open.
- Traffic from a hold's IP addresses must respect the acceptable use policy; a breach there is a breach of these Terms.

## 11. What you may run

Section 1 makes the acceptable use policy binding. Not allowed: spam or bulk email, phishing, malware or botnet control, DDoS or other attacks, scanning or brute-forcing systems that are not yours, booter or stresser services, carding or fraud, child sexual abuse material, cryptocurrency mining (Chia and other proof-of-space included), seedboxes, IPTV, public distribution of films, series, music, games or software you hold no rights to, and any service to sanctioned people or companies. Tor relays are allowed, exits included. Responsibility for a hold covers its virtual machines, its services and every person you let log in.

## 12. Copyright notices and governing law

DMCA notices and other foreign copyright notices are not acted on: only Panamanian law and the decisions of Panamanian courts apply to us. Basalthold is run by DomaineGoat LLC, a company registered in Panama and bound only by Panamanian law. Each datacenter that houses a server follows the law of its own country.

We release records solely under an order from a Panamanian court, and the privacy policy names each record we have. You will find no connection log, no traffic log and no visitor or customer IP address on that list. The bans of section 11 hold on every server, notice or no notice.

## 13. Suspensions and appeals

Only two things suspend a hold:

- the paid days ran out and no renewal followed (section 7);
- the hold ran something the acceptable use policy forbids.

Foreign copyright notices, DMCA included, are not acted on; Panamanian law and Panamanian court orders are what count. Spam, phishing, malware, botnet control, attacks and child sexual abuse material are forbidden and get the server suspended. Your dashboard marks the hold as suspended. Suspension for a breach forfeits the unused days; credits come only through the refund policy. Appeals go to support@basalthold.com and should quote the order reference and the hold's IP address. Cancelling your holds ends the relationship whenever you choose.

## 14. Credits and refunds

If we fail to deliver a server, or it breaks and support cannot repair it, the days it was down go back to your balance. A balance never expires. Top-ups are not paid out unless the law requires it; the part paid only to reach the minimum top-up can be returned on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC, if it has not been spent. Credit on your balance does not expire and renews any of your servers. When a top-up is only made to reach the minimum, the unspent part comes back on request within 30 days of payment, in USDT or USDC. The rest of a balance is not paid out unless the law requires it. Each case, with numbers, is worked through in the [refund policy](https://basalthold.com/refunds/ "When days return to your Basalthold balance").

## 15. Uptime and changes to the offer

No uptime figure is guaranteed. Maintenance, failing parts, the datacenter's network or force majeure may halt a hold. No DDoS protection is promised beyond what the datacenter network does by itself. Should support fail to bring a halted hold back, its lost days are credited to your balance. We may add or retire holds, cities and systems for future orders; a term you have paid keeps what it had.

## 16. Warranty

We supply the service as it stands and when it is available, without warranty of fitness for any purpose. We cannot vouch for how third parties treat a hold's IP address, including the country that geolocation databases assign to it.

## 17. Liability cap

To the extent Panamanian law permits, we owe nothing for indirect or consequential harm, for profits you did not make or for data you lost. On any one claim, the most we can owe equals one 30-day price of the hold in question. Liabilities that Panamanian law forbids anyone to exclude remain untouched.

## 18. Indemnity

A third party may sue us over something you did in breach of these Terms or the acceptable use policy. In that case, you reimburse what that claim reasonably costs us.

## 19. Law and courts

Panamanian law governs this agreement and the service. Disputes go to the courts of Panama, and to no other court.

## 20. Revisions and language

Version of 2 November 2026. These Terms can change. The date at the top identifies the text that applies, from that date, to new orders, to renewals and to further use. English is the original language; translations are for convenience, and the English wording decides any difference.

## 21. Reaching us

- Help desk: support@basalthold.com. A person answers support emails within 12 hours, seven days a week, including help with SSH keys, RAID, reinstalls and firewall rules.
